It all starts with a postcard…

I’m a travel writer, specialising in France. I’ve updated various Rough Guides to different French regions and I write for The Independent, iPaper, National Geographic Traveller, Adventure.com and more.

I love writing to commission, but over the years I’ve realised that personal accounts of travel grab me more than a listicle, a round-up, a third-person feature or a huge double-page spread in a broadsheet newspaper. They’re what I remember when I’m booking a trip.

I wanted a place to share my ponders and wanders in France – et voilà!

Cartes Postales are my postcards from France. They’re short dips into anything French – n’importe quoi, but mostly travel.

I promise they’ll be personal, regular and not too long, but besides that, it’s a moveable feast. Travel, memories, culture, society, books, films… just anything French!
